Alternative health eye lenses

In matters of health and hygiene, fortunately today we have better alternatives and products that give us the opportunity to lead a healthier lifestyle, practice and quality, for example we can consider having a few disposable diapers, sterile syringes or needles, toothbrushes with replacement time indicator and so on. Contact lenses now also we can share its benefits in this regard as they constitute one of the alternatives used to correct optical defects such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, to mix with the use of glasses in most cases, another application is when used for cosmetic purposes to improve the appearance of the eye (optical non-visual) or appearance and image of who uses them in healthy eyes.

Finally, there are therapeutic contact lenses that are used to decrease the discomfort caused by irregularities in the surface of the cornea, injuries or diseases and to protect it from dryness in some diseases where the lid cannot adequately protect the eyeball (eg facial paralysis).

Despite these dizzying developments in products and technologies, it is interesting that there are still some myths about contact lenses, such as:

“Contact lenses can cause eye infections”
False: One of the possible causes of eye infection is the poor or inadequate user hygiene, contamination of the lens due mainly to their use for long periods of time (more than 12 months) and low oxygenation thick materials or obsolete technology.
With a schedule of frequent replacement (biweekly, monthly or even daily), you can maintain a healthy cornea and eliminate the possibility of infection.
